Welcome to Day 13 of #RRBC’S ’20 WC&BE SPONSORS BLOG TOUR! @RRBC_Org @RRBC_RWISA @Tweets4RWISA @NonnieJules

It is my pleasure to shine a spotlight on Nonnie Jules. Not only an accomplished author, Nonnie is also the President of Rave Reviews Book Club and the founder of Rave Writers International Society of Authors. Her goal is to instill the importance of professionalism and reputation in the literary arena, and she works tirelessly toward that end.

E-QUAL-I-TY

If only there was no color, dividing like a wall…

If only there was tolerance, extended to us all…

If only there was understanding…

There would be no need to hate…

If only there was unity…

Peace would be our state.

If we only took the time, we would have the chance to learn…

That respect should be a given – no need to work to earn…

If only there was patience…

Our hearts and minds would be…

Open to the concept…

Of this world of E-QUAL-I-TY.

Author: Nonnie Jules
Blurb:
Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, Baylee never quite fit in…anywhere. She was taunted and teased because her clothes had no designer labels, and spit upon because her only pair of shoes had holes in the bottom. The butt of many jokes, she was excluded from all social activities, sneered at by the parents of her peers after school as she waited for the bus, watching them drive away in their fancy cars; assaulted in the most unthinkable fashion.
Having been born to a white father and a black native American mother didn’t make things any easier. In fact, that circumstance made her life ten times harder – until the day she made them all stand up, take notice, and regret every ugly word and deed they had inflicted upon her.

  1. Hi Nonnie, Hi Karen,
Nonnie, I like the degrees of your poem. You build one sentence upon the other with the word, If, and then give a resolution after each premise. Well done. Thank you for being true to yourself and thereby true to others.

Karen, thank you for hosting Nonnie on your blog.

Wishing both of you a lovely day.

    Shalom aleichem

  2. Hi, Pat! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I penned it yesterday straight from my phone, as I couldn’t think of, nor did I have the time to focus on my own stop (as there are others to go!). I finally felt that it would do and would tie in perfectly with the book so, off to Paula it went.

Thank you for the support and Karen, you did well! Thank you!

  4. That poem fits so well with No Pedigree. If only we could make our “if only” a reality. I’ve read No Pedigree and really enjoyed it. I hope more readers will pick it up. Great poem, Nonnie! Thanks for hosting today, Karen. 🙂

  6. The poem resonates with the universal truth about equality. More than ever, we need to unite rather than divide. Thank you, Nonnie, for reminding us of the importance of embracing each other’s unique attributes and building a bridge toward greater understanding so that we can live in harmony. Karen, thank you for sharing this post.

  7. Hi Karen. What a lovely post regarding a moving book.

Hi Nonnie. Glad to see this book featured on Karen’s site. The poem is very power. Amazing you penned it so quickly. Accepting people without judging is the way forward. Love it.

    1. Thanks, Rox! I’m glad you enjoyed the poem. When the club has events, I typically put mine together (if at all) at the very last minute. I always try to ensure that the other members get promoted first and if I don’t, well, to me, it’s not that big of a deal. If it was, believe me, I’d have more books published by now as opposed to spending all my time pushing others. It is where my happy lives, so, I don’t mind at all.

      Thanks for your support 🙂

    1. Hi, Phil! Yes, I’m sure you have been feeling the ugly that’s permeating our world right now. It’s so sad. Imagine how the African American community must feel and have been feeling for generations. Let’s pray that we will have peace for all soon.

      Thanks for the support!
